The perks of being a travel writer include having quite a lot of knowledge about traveling, either through research or personal experience.

The best advice I ever got – but I have no idea how it got to me – was : bring half the clothes and twice the money.

I’m definitely getting better at carrying only the clothes I need. As for the money, I’m always on a budget so that doesn’t exactly apply. However, I always have some spare money on my card when I travel.
