#indie30 Prompt #13: If you could wake up tomorrow knowing any one language (one you don’t already know), what would it be and why?

Day 13 prompt is here: If you could wake up tomorrow knowing any one language (one you don’t already know), what would it be and why?

Learn how to participate in #indie30 Art Project.

I am fluent in English (language I work in and been speaking for 24 years) and Romanian (native). I speak some French (studied all the way till end of high school), Hungarian (spoke as a child) and Italian (conversational, limited). I also understand Spanish. And I’ve been trying to learn Greek. I do have a course I was supposed to try and then “review” but I only managed to do some lessons. I do have some limited conversational abilities, though.

So, in short, I’d love to learn Greek. At a level to talk to get by in rural Greece, to be able to travel off the beaten path. I won’t mind learning more Hungarian, too. The more I listen to the language, the more I remember it, but that’s not enough.

  1. When I was a child, I saw a calendar of the Greek Islands in my mother’s co-workers office. I was so enthralled as she told me about her heritage and the islands. I’ve also wanted to learn Greek, but first I’m conquering Japanese!
