Packed and ready to go

I just finished packing for our next 5 days (Dec 29 to Jan 2) in Budapest, Hungary. Thankfully I also remembered to ask the staff at the place we are staying whether they provide towels (and they do!) so I don’t carry any dead-weight around.

I also decided against taking the fleece and opted for a warmer / bulkier jacket so that I can wear just 2 layers underneath (long sleeve t-shirt + short sleeve t-shirt). I’ve always been a light packer and I was happily surprised to see that all my stuff for the next 5 days fit into my laptop’s backpack (without the laptop in it, of course). I still need to add the flip-flops and the cell’s charger but that’s about it. I did pack the book I am currently reading and my art journal.

Alex’s stuff along with the camera and tripod is in another back-pack, a slightly larger one, but still very manageable. We decided against carrying the netbook this time. Don’t plan to do any work and all my notes can stay in my art journal.

If you take a look at the list in this article, it’s a bit too long. So, I said no to: fleece / sweater, skirt / dress – it’s winter! -, another pair of shoes and the second pair of jeans. I did pack some toiletries – travel-size stick deodorant, travel size toothpaste, travel-size hair brush. And there’s the day cream, too (which I just started to use a while back but is amazing when the weather is cold!) and the lip balm.

The travel documents and the keys for the luggage locks are in my purse. And so is the birth-control along with some cold medicine and general pain killer. This time we’ll also carry a small water heater (the kind you can put in a cup and it heats the water in like 30 seconds) thanks to my addiction to coffee and tea.

We are leaving tomorrow morning at 5:19 a.m. I’d be making some sandwiches for the train ride and also take some water with us.

I have some scheduled articles which will go out while we are away but I doubt I’d be making any updates from Budapest this time.
