A friend of ours has been to Vietnam (and stayed there for some months). He came back with goodies for us, including a fridge magnet (yeah, he knows I collect those). But ever since we got to talk about Vietnam, I’ve added it to the list of places to see in Asia. While I do want to see the Great Wall of China and The Terracotta Worriers in China, Vietnam is my answer to today’s prompt.

Why?

It’s Cheap

…and not hard to get to, either. We could fly via Istanbul from Budapest. Or we could take the Trans-Siberian (in the light of latest events…maybe not). You can literally live with $2 a day if you don’t go out to eat all the time. So if you bag a place with Internet allowing to do some work, you can live as an expat , enjoy AND save money.

Lovely Landscape

Touristy trap or not, Halong Bay remains a sight to be seen with your own two eyes.

Food

Luckily with choices for non meat eaters like myself. And seafood, of course!

Easy to enter the country

As a Romanian citizen I do have to apply for a visa but it’s not a hard process.

Beaches

Well, no , I am not exactly a beach buff but I do enjoy a nice day on the sand once in a while.

Coffee

Yes, I’m addicted and yes, I am looking for coffee experiences everywhere I travel.
