If you don’t mind spending hours in a cramped, non-AC bus, hoping not to get sick along the way, don’t mind the occasional dead rat in front of your door rather than the morning paper , then this free guide is what you need to get your hands on.

I downloaded it for free after work one day and was absolutely hooked. And laughed my way through it. It is NOT a travel guide, nor would I call it a “serious” travel book; instead, it’s a lovely, easily read tidbits of information which will make your life easier if you ever plan a bit of adventure travel.

Personally I LOVED the book. I like this tongue-in-cheek style which makes you laugh. Sure, the information can just be read as something funny but look carefully and you’ll find interesting hidden facts.

I recommend it to anyone who is not into all inclusive packages. Seriously.

Favorite quotes:

“If in doubt; Irish Pubs. They are everywhere, and the people are friendly.”

“Ceviche (uncooked fish spiced with onions, lime, ginger, milk and various other tasties) is the best food in the world. However, it is made fresh in the morning, and rarely refrigerated properly. Do not eat ceviche after 2pm. Especially not the scallops, unless you want a gastro fiesta.”

“People approach a tent in Australia with a smile and some wine to share. In Peru they approach with a gun and large sack.”

“Solo females travel with males they meet with the hope of protection. Solo males travel with females they meet with the hope of sex. In nature this is described as a symbiotic relationship.”
