Book your stay here

For our stay in Rome (3 nights) , I booked a room at the Rome Metropolitan Guesthouse (update 2024: Roma Guest House) via HostelBookers. The guesthouse is located just 20 m from Termini Station. Basically exit the Station at Platform 1 and then you’ll see two streets. To the right, almost in front of Terracafe is the street going to Fondi Bar – where breakfast is served, by the way – and to the right is Via Marghera. A short walk and you’ll find no 13. Walk to the 2nd floor and take left. Then you will see the entrance to the guesthouse. Ideally, phone Marco once you arrive at Termini so you’ll meet up to check in.

I absolutely loved the guesthouse from the second we stepped in. It’s actually a 3-bedroom apartment, with shared bathroom, kitchen and hallway. There are kitchen utensils, a fridge and a microwave to use. There are TVs in all rooms but don’t expect any English channels. Sight. Free wi-fi is available at Fondi Bar.

Speaking of Fondi Bar, breakfast is a delight: cappuccino, a glass of juice and cornetto. I also got some lovely paninis there and a superb salad! Italians know how to make coffee, really!

The linen is included but you need to bring your towl. It’s possible to shower and there is hot water all the time. There are some shared toiletries so if you run out of yours , don’t worry.

We didn’t stay for too long in Rome so we decided to take things easy. The major sights are within walking distance and it’s true that Rome is an open-air museum. That’s why I loved the guesthouse: it’s within walking distance of the sights!

If you plan to stay here, book well in advance. We stayed in March and I booked the rooms in January. The cost was about 30 euros/night (2 persons). For the summer expect double the price (from 62.00 euros/night for a double room).
