How to get to

The accommodation is located within the Old Town and just 10-15 min walk from Bari Centrale (train station). In the afternoon it was crowded on the streets so we took about 15 min but the next morning when it was just us outside (5 am haha) , it took us 10 min.

Take the Piazza Aldo Moro exit out of Bari Centrale or if you come from the airport and reach the Ferovie del Nord Barese, just get out of the station and you will see a roundabout. Take the street located right outside of Bari Centrale (which is to the right of the airport rail exit).

Walk all the way to Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and then continue as you get in the Old Town. You will see a big museum (Museo Civio) right in front of you. Follow the road through the arches and right after, on the right, it’s Sagges nr. 15.

The room (bathroom on suite)

We had a room on the first floor, with a superb view of the arches, to the right, and a charming street on the left. The bathroom is quite large (for Italy) but the shower stall is claustrophobic (just like in all of southern Italy). There was hot water available all the time.

We also had a kettle, AC / heater, instant coffee and sugar, dishes and silverware. There was a double bed and a single one. We had a TV but it was over the internet – which didn’t work- so…no TV.

Our experience

We arrived in Bari by plane and took the train to Bari Centrale. From there we walked all the way to the hostel. I couldn’t believe how easily we found it! We booked the stay via Hostelbookers and paid 56 eur directly to the hostel and 11.46 eur when we made the booking via the site.

All I wanted to do when we got to the accommodation was to shower and then get something to eat. The staff was helpful and showed us the room. And we also got a map and recommendation where to eat. And no, we didn’t go to the restaurants because they open after 7 pm and we were famished at 6 pm.

The AC was on at 28C all night. It didn’t get that warm (because of the buildings are in Bari and entire Puglia) but it was nice all night. In the morning I was happy to make some coffee since we had a very early train.

Overall, a very nice stay, although it was short. But we already made reservation for the way back (and for January we made the reservation directly via the email and not through hostelbookers).

Do I recommend the place? Sure! Albeit if you need internet, all you can do is check / post on Facebook and Instagram and maybe your email. But you cannot work from the connection.
