How to Have an Awesome Weekend

Labor Day marks the end of summer. But that’s in the US. Here , in Europe, we believe it’s still summer until end of September, correct? And if that doesn’t work, just pack your bags and head to Italy or Greece. Problem solved. Or not?

How about if you are home and just want to have an awesome weekend but don’t have any traveling plans or too much money to spend?

1. Skype your friend from abroad

Arrange a Skype call to a friend who is living abroad. Talk about anything and everything.

2. Shopping

Wait a minute…I said I don’t have “too much money to spend”. That’s right, but there are second-hand stores or flee markets or just a ton of discounts in shops. Those are your goals, to find cheap things which will make you happy.

3. Read a book

Bonus points if it’s raining. It’s more “dramatic” to just stay home with a book in hand and maybe with a hot tea to keep you company.

4. Try a new recipe

If you like – at least a bit – to cook, try a new recipe, whether it’s a salad or a cake. If it turns out awesome, invite friends over. If not…try again. And yeah, maybe you just don’t have that cooking gene in you.

5. Clean your closet

And try new combinations. You actually accomplish two things: get rid of what you don’t need AND find other ways to wear what you have.

6. Take photos of the new outfits

Selfies. Indulge in them and don’t be embarrassed about bragging a bit.

7. Try a new nail polish or hair style. Or both

I like to collect nail polishes. Sometimes I try new combinations. And yes, take photos of what I do.

Likewise, if you have medium-long hair, you can play with your hair style. Document it, of course.

8. Write on your blog

Weekends are the only times when I actually have the time to write on my blog. So I take advantage of that and try to keep it updated.

9. Do some freelance work

Just kidding. Or not? If you have a hobby which brings some money, why not invest a bit of time in it?

10. Go out to your favorite gelateria

…and try a new combination of ice-cream.

11. Be active

Hike. Walk. Bike. Swim. Just be active.
