I probably sound like a broken record when I say that Munich is truly a special gem in Europe. Not only is it a clean, safe and easy to navigate, but the view looking out over the old town, transports you right back in time.
Munich is a city in the heart of Bavaria, Germany. It’s at the foothills of the Alps, but the city its self is fairly flat, so good views like this are hard to come by. This view overlooking the Atstadt or Old Town is found from the top of St. Peter’s church. Pay a small fee of 2 Euros and begin the long steady climb up a staircase through the church’s steeple. Once you emerge take a deep breath of fresh clean air sweeping down from the nearby Alps and take in the 360 panorama view of this charming city.
It can get crowded on sunny summer days so, go early or a bit later in the evening to avoid the crowds and ensure you can get your photo. Hours vary in summer and winter, but it usually closes by 6:30pm in the summer and 5:30 in the winter.
