After checking into my hotel, the first thing I did in Dubrovnik was to take the cable car up Mount Srđ. The view from there took my breath away! Below me, I could see the orange rooftops of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the distance, I spotted Lokrum Island, which is a 10-minute ferry ride from the Old Town port. I recommend visiting Mount Srđ around sunset for the most beautiful views! If you don’t want to take the cable car, you can hike up to the viewpoint.
Walk along the city walls which surround the city and admire the sea and the Old Town, which will take at least an hour. After that, you can visit Banje Beach and take a dip in the water to cool down.
If you need some refreshments, consider visiting one of the cliffside bars outside the city walls.
In recent years, Dubrovnik has become more popular due to being a filming location for Game of Thrones. Places like Fort Lovrijenac, the Rector’s Palace, and Trsteno Arboretum all appeared on the show. There are many walking tours available for the show’s fans!
