Bergen is the second largest city in Norway, situated on the coast and surrounded by seven mountains.
Taking the Fløibanen Funicular to the top of Mt. Fløyen gives a great view of the city. If you love sunsets, this is also the place to be when the sun disappears over the horizon, painting the sky.
Being up on the mountain, you are also away from the city life and can walk straight into nature. You can either do just a short stroll to the scenic Skomakerdiket lake about 10-15 minutes’ walk from the station on a graveled trail or explore the more narrow natural trails in the woods. The choices are plentiful.
Back down from the mountain you can explore everything else the city has to offer, from interesting museums, cultural events and great restaurants and cozy bars.
